30 years ago: Dee Snider fights the PMRC in U.S senate. And wins.

Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider (along with other artists like Frank Zappa and John Denver) entered the halls of the U.S Senate 30 years ago this week to defend the right to sing whatever you want. Al Gore led the hearing that came about because Gores wife Tipper started the PMRC that didn't like that rock music had strong language and had topics like sex, drugs and violence.

Dee enters the hall and the politicians think that they will destroy him. They were not prepared for what was about to hit them.

Fun fact: Dee Snider is still happily married to his wife whom he married in 1981. They have successfully raised four children. Al and Tipper Gore got divorced in 2010 and their son Albert has a history of drugs and arrests. Oh the irony.
